Light brocks connection to Google Chrome.
Tried many times downloading Chrome and installing it and visiting YouTube, everything place well except for being mute.
Played around in YouTube and got sound on. Had the PC shut down after paying about an hour.
Light blocked connection to Google when restarted the PC and tried again to Google Chrome. A padlock and a message saying: Your connection is not secure. The owner of www google con. has configured their website improperly to protect your information being stolen, Light has not connected to this website. ...
I am stuck here. What I must do so that Light will connect to Google?
Thank you.

A Linux file manager for Vim fans
Ranger is a terminal-based file manager that uses Vim-like keyboard commands. If you're working in a terminal all day, running Sed and Awk commands and using Vim, then you might want a way to manage files without leaving the comforting glow of your amber-on-black screen. There are, of course, the ls and cd commands, but sometimes you want to "walk through" your system, or maybe you want to mimic a graphical experience without the graphics.

Force mount reiserfs partitions in read/write mode on OpenSUSE 15.3
At some point some jack-ass at SuSE decided for me that I don't need to use reiserfs anymore and pushed out an update that mounts all reiserfs partitions as read only. I've tried editing fstab and doing a manual mount -o remount blah blah but with no luck I cannot get these partitions mounted in write mode.
Anyone know how to get around this?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Not interested in "migrate to another file system" answers. I have a few PB of data on ReiserFS partitions and I'm not migrating all of that any time soon.

Looking for a pin and string board app?
I'm trying to find an app and so far I haven't been successful, so I'm posting in the hope that someone can help me find one. Let me explain what I'm looking for..
I'm wanting a Pin and string board program where you can put a pin on the board, label it. Then you add another pin, label it and tie a string between the two pins. So far I've found programs that do this. But what I'm wanting is to be able to either add information either on the string, or on say a node on the string so I can explain how those two pins connect together. Like the boards on detective shows.
Anyone know of an App that does all this?
Thanks!

OBS playing up after sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade
The record button indicates it's recording however after pressing stop recording I don't see the mkv file where the OBS output says the file should be. It was working fine before sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade. It appears this is a common occurence for programs to go awire after sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade. Thanks in advance.

Built in Screencast(er)/screen recorder is perhaps a P.O.S. ?
Built in Screencast(er)/screen recorder is perhaps a P.O.S. ?
Using Ubuntu 20.0x LTS. Supposedly, it has the built in screen recorder/caster by using ctrl+alt+shift+r
anyways, the 4 videos I've made thus far are like, pretty much unusuable, to show my friend, where we're working on solving problems with an old Atari 8 bit program...
One can't even see the cursor moving with any smoothness at all, etc....
url to video I recorded:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heRfG7TMuH4
Is it just me or my computer, or is this first attempt at a built in screencaster a pretty much failed attempt?
Addendum: Can someone suggest a screen recorder in the Ubuntu software center or in Synaptic that I could use, that is very simple to use please....

Pulseaudio is playing all system sounds through the microphone output?
Hi, this happened out of the blue, so i'm not sure what triggered it.
Basically if i use any voice application with a microphone, such as discord or skype, my system sounds play through the microphone.
This means i can't listen to music or watch videos whilst in a call, as everyone else can hear the sounds playing on my computer.
I'm not sure where to look to diagnose/fix this issue.
I've played with pavucontrol, trying to stop it from happening there but with no luck, and have also wiped the configs in /etc/pulse and reinstalled all pulse related packages, however the problem still persists.
One interesting thing, is that people in a discord call, they tell me they can't hear themselves being echo'd through the microphone. Whether that means anything, but they do hear every other system sound.
Does anyone have any ideas where to look, or if i can provide any output from some commands to maybe find out what is causing this? Thanks.

The Cloudflare problem. What can be done about it?
So, over the course of the past few months, more and more sites are gone. I mean, they're still up, but they have all turned into a page that reload itself over and over for a minute or so, causing the browser use a great amount of CPU, then finally pop up a page about proving one is a human. I click to prove and ... another minute while the page reloads itself over and over, using much CPU, again. And then do you know what happens? It loops back and one can start the process all over again. Weeee! Great fun, right?
Not.
So over time I've made one connection: every site that does this is provided by Cloudflare. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how can Cloudflare be fixed?
